Band of Bloggers - Vol. 5/May 2016

You know what they say, April shower and all that jazz! Happy May, and welcome to the Band of Bloggers! We hope this post finds you well, and we hope the first half of your 2016 has been treating you right. Please join us in this month's conversation below, we love hearing feedback from our readers!

I don't know about the rest of you, but where I live, it's warm almost all the time. We barely have a fall season, and it hardly ever rains. I hate the heat, so in essence, I am forced to live with something I don't particularly like!

My Band Of Bloggers question for May is: if you had to choose 1 or 2 scents you absolutely dread and you had to melt and smell them only for the rest of your life, what would they be and why? And also, why do you dislike them in the first place?

I have a strong dislike for coffee and pineapple scents. I almost threw up a little bit thinking of those two combined in a blend. But if I had to pick two scents that I had to melt, it would be pineapple first, then coffee. I'm not sure if I could ever get used to the bitterness that I smell in coffee scents. Pineapple is much less offensive for me but there's something about pineapple that makes me make weird faces. Not actual pineapple, I could eat the fruit all day but there's a dryness and almost saccharine note in pineapples in wax. But...I think I'd probably be able to get used to it and focus on the sweetness instead.

  1. PINEAPPLE COFFEE. VOM. VOM. VOM. I think I'd start with a disliked fruit, too. But real pineapple? Serve me up a bowl and I am done! I like your choices!

  2. Yes! I agree! Anything pineapple heavy is not for me. Partly why I can't do Blue Hawaiian.

  3. Yuck. Why'd you have to bring the thought of pineapple coffee to my brain? I'm like you. I've tried to find a good pineapple scent in wax, to no avail. Real pineapples I'll gobble right up, though!

I like coffee... just not in wax. There were a few I tried a few years ago that I liked. Since then I haven't been able to recreate it. Maybe it's my nose. Maybe something in the scent oils changed. We shall never know!

  4. I wouldn't automatically look for a pineapple scent to add in my cart either, you are right about the saccharine sweetness. It is so unlike a real pineapple which has that tanginess running through the sweetness!

Hmm, I don't have strong feelings about coffee in wax. Again, I won't reach out for it first but I have melted a couple which were okay.
