Black Friday Kérastase Haul

I'm going to go out on a limb and put Black Friday hauls posted in February under the better late than never umbrella.

I purchased a few things for myself on Black Friday when my intent was to holiday shop for others. It's the worst feeling to be shopping for your sister and have eighteen items in the cart for yourself. What's even worse is checking out with only the items you purchased for yourself.

Why is it, in these times, you find everything you absolutely must have and you convince yourself you could not possibly live one more day without it?

A Kérastase sale danced it's way across my computer screen and instead of just letting it continue it's routine to my cyber trash bin, I pulled it right back and devoured every word of this captivating piece of well written spam.

Kérastase, you say? That ridiculously high priced hair care line I used that one time that smelled so good? Yes, that.

I've been wanting to splurge on this line for the longest time, I'm talking years. I had a very difficult time convincing myself to spend that kind of money simply because I loved the way the shampoo made my hair smell. I liked what it did to my hair, cleansing wise, but it was the fragrance that I loved the most.

I went to the website, sale details memorized and wanted that exact shampoo (and it's entire green color coded line) from years before.

As it happens, that is not the best matched line for my hair today. Which, according to my beloved cross dressing hairdresser, is fine. As in baby fine, not good fine. I mistakingly told him my hair was thin during our first appointment and he shook his head so violently, I thought he was going to have a seizure.

Your hair is not thin, dahhhling. You have a lot of hair, it's just fine.

Well, what am I suppose to do with all this fine hair to make it appear thicker?

That is the question I'm hoping my latest Kérastase order will help me answer.
The Black Friday sale was 20% off, free shipping, a free full sized product and a sample gift box.

I ordered the Intensive Scalp Treatment, a leave in regime to increase hair fullness. Regular price $60, purchased for $48.
I'm kind of in love with the term ANTI-AFFINEMENT

The intimidating looking glass vials
Other items in the Specifique line include the Densitive GL thickening spray (regular price $40/sale $32 and the Bain Stimulist GL shampoo (reg price $39/sale $31.20).

I didn't purchase a conditioner to go with the shampoo but opted for the Elixir Ultime instead ($56/$44.80 on sale). It's a multi-use oil that delivers shine and conditioning.

The free full sized product was Touche Finale ($36/free for BF), a serum that provides shine, polishing, UV filters and anti-frizz/humidity protection.

The majority of the products that I purchased are for thinning hair (nobody tell Antonio) but the benefits promised best fit what I wanted to accomplish.

My purchase was still a bit pricey but I've never minded spending more for quality. I'm hoping that my discounted purchase will give me a good idea whether the Kérastase line is worth it.

It's true that many women want the opposite hair than what's on their head. My friend has beautiful curly hair and longs for a straight mane. My sister has super thick hair and wants to cut her blow drying time in half by getting rid of half her hair.

I don't know anyone with fine hair that wouldn't want thick hair.

I want to wrap my hair tie around my ponytail twice. Only twice.

Hoping your Monday is splendid!

  1. Nice haul, please please report back after you have used it for a while. I have fine AND thin hair, my only saving grace is that the curls can mask some of that. But I am interested in your results. Happy Monday Sunnee!

  2. I don't know a dang thing about anything in this post but it doesn't matter, cuz I'll read anything here, especially hauls posts. =)

I don't even know what kind of hair I have. Limp and graying would be words I use to describe it. LOL
